Good afternoon,

I just downloaded Scriptio and tried to run it, but I got the attached error message. I believe this issue relates to support for versions of SQL Server later than 2005. Please investigate and resolve.

I have exactly the same problem. It appears, when I click 'Connect'.
In C:\Windows\assembly i can see an object named 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo'.
But it is in version 10.0.0.0, not 9.0.242.0 as in error message - may be different version is the problem ?

I would like to use it, adding a "script data content" option.

It should not be difficult, but will help a lot with the goal of automating Tasks/Generate Scripts.

Description:
Added object selection filtering by name using regex, changed filtering so that multiple filtering could be handled, i.e. by object type AND object name. If no object type is selected, or no regex is specified, that filter is not applied.

As a follow up, I found another project on codeplex called scriptdb that appears to do everything I wanted. It is basically the command line version of Scriptio. Works with sql server 2008 R2 as well. Can script permissions, extended properties, puts everything in folders organized like sql server management studio, etc. I highly recommend it, and its source code is available.

The source code from SVN or the download link is for version 0.5.5, but the latest download version is 0.6.1

Can you make the latest code available? I would like to contribute to this project. This is basically what I've been looking for, but would like to add a command line version and some other small enhancements (ability to store single file output to different folders for each type of object).

Requests:

Extract the meat of the utility into a cmd line interface, and change the UI to merely exercise the cmd line exe. I might do this myself and commit patches. This would be a big improvement over the database publishing wizard that cannot script to separate files and it would make the tool an improved replacement for scptxfr.exe.
Include a regex exclusions section so that you can easily leave out tables and views created by sql features such as sql replication and SSMS diagram support in views. IE: a textbox that you type in sys* into and press the Add button to add sys* to a new datagrid for all of the exclusions. All objects starting with sys would become unchecked in the script selection datagrid.

Love Scriptio however it throws a clinker when trying to deal with database names containing embedded spaces. I've inherited several databases like this and have yet to find a workaround within the UI. I've downloaded the source and I'll see if I can make the necessary patch to get it to digest these bogus DB names. Here's the error:

Created Issue: Handle Encrypted Objects [4383]

It is not possible to script out objects that are encrypted, these include UDF'd, Sp's and Triggers.
After a new database is selected and the objects are loaded a check for encrypted objects should be performed.
If any encrypted objects are found a warning message should be displayed and the objects should not be selectable for scripting, maybe the background color of their row should be different..
SMO provides the propery IsEncrypted at the Object level. I do not believe the Db.EnumObjects can provide this but I may be wrong.
